Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. About Us
G.S Chandler Joinery operates https://gschandlerjoinery.co.uk. We provide bespoke joinery services, including made-to-measure furniture, timber windows and doors, and operate an online shop selling hardware, fittings, wood-care products and related accessories.
Our business address is:
G.S Chandler Joinery
Unit 3, Crawfold Business Park
Balls Cross, Petworth
GU28 9JT
United Kingdom
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to G.S Chandler Joinery. “You” and “your” refer to customers and visitors using our website.
2. Scope of These Terms
These terms apply to your use of our website and purchases made through it, including stocked products sold through our online shop.
Bespoke joinery commissions, such as made-to-measure furniture, windows and doors, may be subject to a separate written quotation, specification and commission agreement. Where a separate agreement applies, it will govern the specific arrangements for that commission. These terms continue to apply where relevant and do not remove any rights you have under applicable law.
3. Product Information and Availability
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, materials, prices and availability are accurate.
Product photographs may differ slightly from the actual item due to lighting, display settings or natural variations in materials. Any variation will not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty or does not match its description.
We aim to keep product availability information up to date. If a product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you to discuss the available options, which may include a refund where appropriate.
4. Orders and Acceptance
Placing an order through our website is an offer to purchase the selected products.
An order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order. Acceptance of an order will be communicated through our order confirmation or other appropriate communication.
If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because an item is unavailable or there is a genuine pricing or listing error, we will contact you promptly. If payment has already been taken and we cancel the order, we will arrange an appropriate refund.
We will not use this section to remove any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
5. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP). The applicable VAT treatment will be reflected in the prices and checkout information as required by law.
We take reasonable care to ensure that prices are accurate. If we identify a genuine pricing error before accepting an order, we will contact you to explain the issue and discuss the available options. We will not proceed with a corrected price without the appropriate agreement where required.
Payment for stocked products is taken through the payment methods available at checkout. Payment arrangements for bespoke commissions, including any deposit or balance, will be confirmed separately in writing before work begins.
6. Delivery
Delivery destinations, available services, estimated timeframes and shipping charges are described in our Shipping Policy and at checkout.
Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed unless we expressly agree otherwise. We will contact you if we become aware of a significant delay affecting your order.
For consumer purchases, responsibility for goods remains with us until the goods come into the physical possession of you or a person you have identified to receive them, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Please check your delivery when it arrives and contact us promptly if it is damaged, incomplete or incorrect. This does not limit your statutory rights.
7. Returns, Cancellations and Refunds
Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains how to request a return, cancellation or refund for stocked products purchased through our online shop.
Where applicable, consumers purchasing online have statutory cancellation rights, including a 14-day cancellation period for many goods. Exceptions may apply to certain goods, including qualifying products made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised goods. We will explain any applicable exception where relevant.
We offer a 30-day return period for eligible stocked products under our store policy, subject to the conditions set out in the Returns & Refunds Policy. This additional policy does not reduce any statutory rights you may have.
Bespoke joinery commissions are handled separately because they are designed and produced for individual projects. Any applicable cancellation terms, charges and consequences of work already undertaken will be explained in the written quotation or commission agreement before you commit.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory rights or remedies relating to faulty, unsafe, misdescribed or non-conforming goods or services.
8. Bespoke Joinery Commissions
Bespoke joinery work is agreed individually with each customer. Before work begins, we will confirm the relevant details in writing, which may include:
-
Design, measurements and specifications
-
Materials and finishes
-
Price and payment schedule
-
Estimated production and delivery or installation timeframe
-
Customer approvals and any responsibilities for site access or preparation
-
Applicable cancellation, variation and completion arrangements
You should review the specification carefully before approving it. Changes requested after approval may affect the price or timeframe and will be agreed with you before we proceed.
We will carry out the agreed work with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable law.
9. Product Descriptions and Natural Variations
We aim to represent products accurately, including their materials, dimensions, functions and intended use.
Natural variations in timber grain, colour and finish may occur in handmade or natural-material products. Such variations do not automatically mean an item is faulty, but this section does not override your rights where goods do not conform to the contract or description.
If you believe an item is faulty or incorrect, please contact us with your order details and supporting photographs where possible so we can assess the issue.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any statutory rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
For consumers, we remain responsible for providing goods and services in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Subject to the above, we are not responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or that do not arise from a breach of our obligations, to the extent permitted by law.
If you purchase products or services for business purposes, any additional liability terms must be agreed where appropriate and must be lawful and applicable to that transaction.
11. Website Use
You agree to use our website lawfully and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or submit information that is knowingly false or misleading.
We may update website content, product listings or functionality when reasonably necessary. Such changes do not remove rights that have already arisen under an accepted order or applicable law.
12. Privacy and Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it and the circumstances in which we share it.
Please review our Privacy Policy for further details.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use third-party services for payments, delivery and other operational functions. Links to external websites may also be provided for convenience.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for external website content that we do not control, subject to any obligations imposed on us by law.
14. Complaints and Contact
If you have a question, concern or complaint about an order or bespoke commission, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.

15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your place of residence.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section removes any right you may have to bring a claim in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms when our business practices, website services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with the date of revision.
The terms applicable to a particular order will be those that apply to that transaction, together with any separate written agreement that governs a bespoke commission. Changes to these terms will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued.
If you have questions about these terms, please contact us using the details above.
